New York City begin BankSimple this day disclosed that it raised its first venture funding in a round led by First Round Capital , Roger Ehrenberg’s IA Ventures , and Village Ventures , along with seed investors SV Angel (Ron Conway) and Nauiokas Park, and Jerry Neumann. AOL Scoops Up Rally Up To Boost Their Mobile Team

AOL has just acquired Rally Up , the Santa Cruz-based mobile application company, we’ve learned. The 9-person team will become a part of AOL’s mobile group reporting to David Temkin , the new head of mobile. No word on the price, but we hear it was less than $10 million.

Google Voice Is A Hot Mess Right Now

I think I liked Google Voice better back when it was hard to get an invitation. Back then it worked most of the time, and the infrequent outages were tolerable given how useful the service is overall. But over the last week the service has become spotty at best, and unusable at times.
